Traditional Chinese medicine master XU Jing-fan's experience in diagnosing and treating diarrhea

徐景藩教授认为下利在临床中可表现为以大便异常为主的泄泻或痢疾,将下利病机概括为"脾虚湿热夹瘀,寒热错杂,肝脾肾同病",用药当"温清并施,补泻兼顾"。徐老在临床上善用足疗治疗下利,并提倡配合灌肠、散剂,疗效显著。

Professor XU Jing-fan thinks that diarrhea is manifested as diarrhea or dysentery, and its main clinical symptoms is abnormal tools. He holds the view that the pathogenesis of diarrhea is ‘spleen deficiency with heat dampness and blood stasis, intertwist of cold with heat, and simultaneous diseases of liver, spleen and kidney＇, and its principle of treatment should be ‘together using warming and heat-clearing, tonifying and reducing method＇. In the clinical practice, XU is with a good use of pedicure and advocates the combination of enema and powders to treat diarrhea, and its curative effect is remarkable.
