恶性肿瘤的形成有虚有实,虚实夹杂,以虚为本,以实为标。恶性肿瘤是虚实夹杂的复杂体,故治疗既要扶正,又要祛邪。在恶性肿瘤治疗中,贺用和老师分为三期辨证论治,早期恶性肿瘤患者,认为身强体壮者,肿瘤发现初期,无明显虚象者,病程较短,邪实而正未虚,治疗以祛邪为主,治疗强调清热解毒、化痰通络;中期,即经过多重放化疗、靶向的治疗,体质偏弱,病症明显,以扶正及祛邪为主,根据患者体质及症状特点亦有偏重;末期,以扶正为主,对于晚期不耐受放化疗、体质较弱情况下适合用,亦可佐以祛邪,以达阴阳平衡,使患者可以有质量的带瘤生存数年。贺用和老师提出恶性肿瘤的转移是以经络作为传变通路,以痰瘀毒聚作为转移形成的病理因素,以内风旋动作为转移的动因,而人体脏腑气血阴阳失调则是转移的根本原因。贺用和老师认为癌性疼痛的病机是经气不通,其肿瘤病理产物有气滞、血瘀、痰结、寒凝等因素,引起经络阻滞、气血不通,不通则痛,病因多为寒邪之气,从寒论治,效果颇佳。贺用和老师认为调和脾胃法应贯穿恶性肿瘤治疗全过程,同时提倡药食同源,注重饮食调养。

The formation of malignant tumors is characterized by deficiency and excess,deficiency as the primary and excess as the secondary. Malignant tumor is a complex body of deficiency and excess. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen healthy qi and remove pathogenic factors. In the treatment of malignant tumor,Mr. He has divided it into three stages based on syndrome differentiation and treatment. For early malignant tumor patients with strong constitution,short disease course and excessive pathogen but without clear deficiency,his treatment focuses on removing pathogenic factors by clearing away heat,removing toxicity,resolving phlegm and dredging meridians. For medium malignant tumor patients with multiple replays of chemotherapy and targeting,their the physique is weak,and the disease is obvious. His treatment focuses on strengthening healthy qi and removing pathogenic factors based on constitution and symptoms. For advanced malignant tumor patients with intolerance of chemotherapy and weak physique,his treatment focuses on strengthening healthy qi combined with removing pathogenic factors in order to reach the balance of yin and yang,so that the patient can survive with a tumor and relatively good quality of life for several years. He suggests that the metastasis of malignant tumor is based on the channels of the meridians,the pathological factors of the accumulation of phlegm and blood stasis,and the internal wind swirl are as the motive force of metastasis,and the fundamental reason for the transfer is the yin-yang dissonance of the body and viscera and qi and blood. He thinks that the pathogenesis of cancer pain is meridian-qi stagnation,and pathological products include qi stagnation,blood stasis,phlegm accumulation,cold coagulation and other factors,which cause obstruction of the meridian and collaterals,Qi and blood and the pain. The cause is mostly cold. The effect is good treating based on cold theory. Professor emphasizes that method of harmonizing the spleen and stomach should go through the whole process of malignant tumor treatment,and advocates the homology of medicine and food and pay attention to diet.
