摘要
"媒介即隐喻"是美国著名媒介环境学家尼尔·波兹曼在《娱乐至死》中提出的理论命题,该命题体现了20世纪以来的技术哲学对传统技术观的反思。通过对麦克卢汉"媒介即讯息"思想的继承和改造,波兹曼发展出了媒介"隐喻论",指出了媒介所具有的强大暗示力,以及媒介所特有的自我遮蔽性,形成了自己独特的媒介哲学。从"隐喻论"出发,波兹曼展开了对以电视为代表的电子媒介的猛烈批判。进入互联网时代,波兹曼进一步将自己的媒介批判理论应用于互联网,揭示出互联网媒介的隐喻。
" The Medium is the metaphor" is a theoretical proposition which was put forward by Neil Postman, a famous American media ecologist, in his book Amusing Ourselves to Death. It is a reflection on traditional technical ideas in the realm of philosophy of technology since the 20th century. Through the inheritance and transformation of Mcluhang " The medium is the message" , Postman developed the " metaphorical ideas" of media, pointed out that the media had a strong implied force, and a specific self-concealment, which formed his unique philosophy of media. From the " metaphorical ideas" , Postman launched a severe critique of electronic media which was represented by television. After entering the Internet age, Postman applied his critical theory of media to Internet and revealed the metaphor of Internet media.
