An overview of the potential safety risk materials in cosmetics and daily chemical products, such as the ＂silicon＂ and ＂silicone oil＂ in shampoo, fluorescent brightener in detergent and cosmetics, formaldehyde release agent in cosmetics, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and its esters used as preservatives in cosmetics were summarized. The characteristics, application, safety evaluation and analysis of above compounds were presented. The related regulations and standards of these materials at home and abroad were briefly introduced. The countermeasures and suggestions to these consumers＇ concerns were also focused.
