It is a difficult choice for Mao Zedong and the Party Central Committee of the CPC to turn from defending Yan＇an to leaving but remain fighting in northern Shaanxi. In the one year and five days,in the smallest headquarters,Mao Zedong has commanded the greatest liberation war of the Chinese people,holding back over 200,000 KMT troops of Hu Zhongnan with 20,000,not only smashing the key attack of the KMT to liberated areas in northern Shaanxi,but relieving pressure for other battlefields,achieving the great change of the liberation war from the inner circle to the outer circle,from defence to strategic counterattack,which has become the turning point of the Chinese People＇s War of Liberation. In the difficult time of fighting around northern Shaanxi,Mao Zedong has turned danger into safety twice,which displays great art in strategy and tactics,embodies his spirit of sacrifice as the great proletarian revolutionist,the special feelings for people of northern Shaanxi,and the excellent quality of hard struggle,leaving us profound implications.
