According to the traditional rules in grammar,the logical sub ject of the participle in the subordinating clause must be in agreement with the real subject of the main clause,and any constructions contrary to this rule may cause false logic,which belong to mistakes called dangling modifiers.In reading s,however,such constructions are often seen and accepted.This thesis is meant to sum up such usages and to illustrate the contradiction between grammar and prac tical employment.
