A Study of the Development of Lingnan during the Three-State Period

三国时期,岭南是曹魏和孙吴两国争夺的对象。因地利之便,孙吴统治岭南的时期相对较长。岭南是东吴财赋的主要供应地,也是其海外贸易的重要基地。北人南迁、先进生产技术的引进、得天独厚的自然条件以及孙吴政权实行的比较适宜的政策等,都是岭南经济得以长足发展的重要因素。岭南的农业、手工业、内外贸易等,在这个时期都有了比较显著的发展。

During the Three-State period, Lingnan, the vast area south of the Five Ridges, has always been the contested object among the two State——Wei and Wu. But due to geographical advantages, Wu ruled that area for a relatively longer period. Lingnan served as the major source of revenues and an important base for its overseas trade. Residents who had mastered advanced farming technology moved in from the North. Superior natural conditions and beneficial policies from the government all promoted the rapid development of the agriculture, handicraft and trade both home and abroad.
