摘要
修辞结构理论是美国功能语言学流派的主要代表之一,其宗旨是为语言的分析和生成提供形式的框架。该理论对文本关系及其结构分析具有较高理论价值,它可以增进我们对文本机制的深入理解。正因为这一点,它的关系定义以及理论框架被广泛地应用于计算语言学、话语分析、二语习得等各个领域。将修辞结构理论运用到英语教学中也是近年来二语习得领域的一个热点。本文主要介绍修辞结构理论的基本内容以及结合该理论的基本内容,阐释其在大学英语教学中,特别是阅读教学、写作教学中的应用。
Rhetorical Structure Theory(RST) is a representative school of American Functional Linguistics, whose aim is to provide a formalized framework for the analysis and generation of language. It is of great value to analyze relations and structures of a discourse, penetrating the inner level of it so as to gives us a deeper understanding of the discourse. RST is widely applied in the areas of computational linguistics, discourse analysis and second language acquisition. In this paper, the main content of RST is introduced in the first place, followed by its applications in English teaching, specifically in reading and writing.
