How to Promote Entrepreneurial Performance: It Depends on Human Capital or Social Capital?

创业者人力资本和社会资本对企业创业绩效的影响受到学者们的广泛关注,然而现有研究较少比较人力资本和社会资本对企业创业绩效的作用。本研究基于市场转型理论,通过对中东西部地区4个城市106家企业的实证研究发现:(1)创业者的人力资本和社会资本对企业创业绩效都有正向影响;(2)创业者的社会资本对企业创业绩效的正向影响强于创业者的人力资本;(3)地区经济发展水平调节创业者的人力资本和社会资本对企业创业绩效的影响。其中,经济不发达地区创业者的人力资本和社会资本对企业创业绩效的影响均强于经济较发达地区。

The impacts of human capital and social capital of entrepreneurs on entrepreneurial performance are widely studied in the field of entrepreneurship research. However, limited intellectual efforts have been invested to explore the different effects of social capital and human capital on entrepreneurial performance. Drawing on market transition theory, the empirical results of 106 firms in four cities of western, central and eastern China showed that： （1） Human and social capitals of entrepreneurs both positively affect firms＇ performance; （2） Social capital of entrepreneurs has a stronger impact on entrepreneurial performance than human capital of entrepreneurs; （3） The level of economic development of cities moderates the relationship between entrepreneurial human capital （and social capital） and entrepreneurial performance, in which entrepreneurial human capital （and social capital） has greater influence on entrepreneurial performance in economically underdeveloped cities than that in economically developed cities.
