摘要
瓦西特自然保护区曾是一个废水池和垃圾场。2005年,恢复受损生态系统的工作启动：40,000m^2垃圾获得清理,35,000棵树被重新种植,土地从有害化学物的污染中恢复,独特的盐滩和沿岸沙丘也开始受到保护。为了使非候鸟重新回到这里,人们投入数年的努力,终于使保护区重新栖居了350种鸟类,成为33,000只候鸟的登陆区,以及沙迦城的绿肺。
Wasit Natural Reserve was originally a waste- water and rubbish dump. The rehabilitation process of the damaged eco-system started in 2005, 40,000m^2 of rubbish removed, 35,000 trees been re-planted, healing the land from toxic chemicals and conservation of the Unique salt flats and coastal sand dunes.
