摘要
苏州工艺美术职业技术学院是教育部批准成立的我国第一所艺术设计高等职业院校。学院前身为1958年8月创办的“苏州工艺美术专科学校”。历史渊源则上溯至著名油画家、美术教育家颜文梁先生创办的“苏州美术学校”（1922年）和“苏州美术专科学校”（1932年）。
Suzhou Art ＆ Design Technology Institute is the first higher vocational college in this field to be approved by the national Ministry of Education. Of the six departments in the school, the Visual Communication Department ranks at the top with regard to number of faculty members, students, and professional pathways. By means of the educational method of ＂professional platform teaching ＋ project teaching ＋ cross-disciplinary teaching,＂ it has made abundant, significant achievements.
