一部文学作品的阅读研究具有两个完全不同的方面需要关注:一个是文本写作者所具有的隐性阅读者存在的意识分析,这属于写作主体的心灵关照方面;一个是对文本接受者的状态分析,这属于传媒与受众的互动关照方面。阅读研究具有三层意义:作品的文化和社会属性;作家预设的阅读语境及心态变化的个体属性;作品传播的可能途径。运用阅读批评方式对于小说《金瓶梅》而言,阅读研究具有更为客观的批评指数,它是力求摆脱以批评者为中心,用更客观的态度对文本进行分析的一种尝试。

The reading research of a literary work involves two completely different aspects： the analysis of the writer＇s awareness of potential readers and the state analysis of text receivers. The former tocuses on the mental activities of the writer and the latter the interaction between media and audience. This kind of research has three major significances： the cultural and social property, the reading context presupposed by the writer and the individual property of psychological change, and the possible channels of dissemination. The reading research of Jin Piing Mei tries to break away from the critic-centered model and adopts a more objective model of text analysis.
