Nowdays, discourse system has become a hot topic for research fields of humanities and social sciences, and has become a significant factor affecting national security. After introducing the concept and features of discourse system, the paper makes a report of the origin and development, major disciplines and the major key words, and the essential literature for the study of discourse system. A summary of the research status quo of discourse system is made. Based on this, the relationship between discourse system and country is analyzed, and the important role of discourse system for the national security is extrapolated in detail in the aspects of dominating thoughts, route for development, identity characteristics, cultural confidence, Finally, it is concluded that the discourse system is a field which seriously influences the national security and an important front for the competition between different countries.
