Objective To analyze factors affecting recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation. Methods A total of 169 patients undergoing radiofrequency ablation during May 2014 and December 2016 were divided into recurrent group ( n = 73 ) and non recurrence group ( n = 96 ) according to whether or not having recurrence of atrial fibrillation. Clinical data was compared, and factors affecting recurrence after radiofrequency ablation for atrial fibrillation were analyzed in two groups. Results In recurrence group, course of disease was significantly longer, and level of N- terminus fragment of probrain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) was significantly higher than those in non recurrent group (P 〈0.05). In 3 months after surgery, in recurrence group, levels high sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) were significantly higher, while decreased degrees of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and hypoxia inducible factor-1α (HIF-1α) were significantly lower than those in non recurrent group ( P 〈 0.05 ). Left atrium diameter and left atrium volume (LAVI) in recurrent group were significantly greater than those in non recurrent group (P 〈 0.05). Conclusion Course of disease, NT-proBNP, hs-CRP, IL-6, MMP-9, HIF-1α and LAVI are influencing factors of recurrence of atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation.
