Twenty-first Century is the age of the internet. As a cross platform language,Java has become the most important language in the Internet,with its advantages of good executability,portability and security. It has been used in many aspects. This paper first introduces the brief history of the development of Java and the excellent features of Java,such as portability,security,cross platform,simple and so on. Then it analyzes the Internet age,expounds the application of Java in the Internet age,and finally looks forward to the future development of Java. Through these elaboration,we can conclude that the role of Java technology in the internet age is not to be underestimated. The development of Java technology and the internet complement each other and promote each other.
