再论斯诺、海伦与一二九运动之关系

Another Discussion on the Relationship Between Helen and Edgar Snow and the December 9^(th) Movement

斯诺、海伦与一二九运动关系密切。20世纪30年代初,斯诺夫妇与上海、北平两地左翼文化人的交往经历促使其思想发生转变。一二九运动期间,斯诺夫妇在英美驻华媒体与学生之间穿针引线,为后者争取西方主流媒体同情,占领国际舆论阵地,推动运动的酝酿、发生与扩展。在运动发展高潮之时,黄敬成为斯诺夫妇与中共联系的重要媒介,向其传达中共关于一二九运动国际宣传的建议,并积极帮助斯诺首访延安。一二九运动是斯诺、海伦通过其人际关系影响中共国际反法西斯统一战线的起点。

Helen and Edgar Snow are closely related to the December 9th Movement. In the early 1930s, their experiences with left-wing cultural circles in Shanghai and Beiping led to a change in their thinking. During the December 9＇h Movement, Mr. and Mrs. Snow worked with the British and American media in China and the Chinese students, helping the students to win the sympathy of the mainstream Western media. They also took a public international position and promoted the design, realization, and expansion of the movement. At the climax of the movement, Huang Jing was an important intermediary for the couple to make contact with the CPC by rela- ying to them the CPC＇s suggestions on international propaganda regarding the December 9th Movement, and ac- tively helping Snow to make his first visit to Yan＇ an. The December 9th Movement was the starting point for Helen and Snow, through their interpersonal relationships, to influence the CPC＇ s international anti-fascist united front.
