As a type of children＇s book abundant with texts and illustrations, picture book is enlightening to thoughts and it reflects virtues of a society. Being courageous, determined and dauntless, Christopher Columbus＇s stories have been told for many times. The article analyzes the image of Christopher Columbus in picture books by comparing the storytelling between white writers and Native American writers. Columbus＇s new discovery has accelerated the pace of globalization and opened the new land for colonization; however, the exploits and conquest are disgraceful. Columbus was regarded as a great navigator but now a colonizer and a flawed hero, reflecting people’s understanding about historical events from different sides.
