According to the determination method of tanshinone class chemical component content in salvia miltiorrhiza research, this paper introduced the research progress on determination methods such as high performance liquid chromatography（HPLC）, reversed phase chromatography（HPLC）, ultra high performance liquid chromatography（HPLC）, ultra-high performance liquid chromatographymass spectrometry（HPLC） and acoustooptic tunable near-infrared spectroscopy, in order to provide reference for carrying out future correlation study of Salvia miltiorrhiza.
