Chestnut silkworm, commonly known as chestnut Manchurian silkworm or lantern cocoon silkworm,is a totally abnormal wild filamentous economic insect of Lepidoptera, Bombyx mongolicae. In this paper, the morphological characteristics of eggs, larvae, pupae and moths of chestnut silk worm are introduced in detail in the form of characters and pictures. The living habits of larvae and a dults are summarized, and the problems on further domestication, selection and purification of chest nut silkworm were put forward.
