Objective To explore the significance of modified pediatric early warning score (MPEWS) in terms of emergency early warning triage. Methods Children in our hospital from February 2017 to February 2018 were selected as the research objects. According to the requirements of the feld collection of relevant data, the nurses were graded on the MPEWS for the sick children, and the doctor evaluated and graded the sick children, and sought the correlation between the MPEWS score and the severity of the illness. Results There was a correlation between MPEWS score and disease grading (rs=-0.629, P 〈 0.001). The higher the MPEWS score, the lower the disease grade was, the more severe the condition was. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was 0.975, and the confdence interval was 0.972 to 0.977 (P 〈 0.05). It shows that the MPEWS score is statistically signifcant for emergency children. The optimal threshold was 1.5, and the sensitivity rate was 93.9% and the specifcity rate was 99.5%. Conclusion It takes value of MPEWS to children’s emergency warning triage, and identifying emergency children in time.
