A Study on the Female Participation in the Process of 19th Century British Democratization

在19世纪英国工业化浪潮和政治民主化进程中,英国女性的地位和影响力日益提高。她们在私人领域愈益发出自己的"声音",也愈发要求改变男女在社会和家庭权利等方面的不平等地位,而与男性平等的政治权利则是她们的最终追求。英国女性争取权利的运动伴随着19世纪政治民主化进程的推动而不断拓展,从而为20世纪英国女性的全面解放奠定了基础。

In the process of 19th century British industrialization and political democratization, the status and in- fluence of British women were increasing. They were increasingly making their own ＂voices＂ in the private sphere, and increasingly demanding changes in the unequal status between men and women in social and family rights while having equal political rights with men was their uhimate pursuit. The movement of women＇ s rights in Britain had been expanding with the advancement of political democratization in the 19th century, which laid the foundation for the full liberation of British women in the 20th century.
