中西史学比较研究产生于近代中国,其发生和发展的根源在于中国学者对中西历史、现实问题的思考。通过对中西认识客体的比较,分析其同异的深层次原因,回答时代所提出的理论和现实问题,进而深刻认识中西史学的特点,探寻中西历史发展的趋向,增进中西文化之间的理解和宽容,以便更好地交流与合作,这是中西史学比较研究的重要价值之所在。

Chinese-European History Comparison originates in modem China, and the toot of its occurrence and development lies in Chinese scholars＇ reflections on the historical and realistic issue of China and the West. By means of the comparison of Chinese and Western cognitive object, analyzing the different deep causes, answering times proposed theoretical and realistic problem, and thus going a step further to knowledge the essence of the characteristics of the respective historiography, exploring the trend of historical development in China and the west, we try to promote understanding and tolerance between Chinese and Western culture, in order to have a better ex- change and cooperation, which is of important value for the comparative study of Chinese and western history.
