By the end of 2014, the free state Bavaria in Germany arranged a competition “Partnership, University and Region” aiming to promote courses of studies which met the special needs of a certain region. The universities of applied sciences of Ansbach and Aschaffenburg succeeded in their joined application and received the mandate to implement bachelor’s programs based on the blended learning concept, i.e. “Intercultural Management” in Rothenburg and “Business Management” for small and middle-sized enterprises(SME) in Miltenberg. This article describes which steps should be taken to get the courses started and explains the challenges during the implementation.
