摘要
许渊冲教授提出诗词翻译"三美"理论,其中"音美"传达的策略与方法引起译界的讨论。音乐性是诗歌的重要属性之一,以"韵文体"译诗能最大程度地再现原诗的音韵美,而以"散文体"译诗容易消解唐诗中鲜明的音韵和悦耳的美学特征。许渊冲主张"以诗译诗",其理论与实践为汉诗英译提供了启示。
Xu Yuan-chong proposed “Three Beauties” theory for poetry translation. However, the techniques of “beauty of sound” in the theory lead a heated debate in the past decades. Musicality is one of the attributes of poetry. The metrical translation can fully reproduce the rhythmic beauty of Chinese poetry, while the non-metrical translation may lose the rhythmic beauty of Tang poems which are characterized by melodies. Xu Yuan-chong advocates metrical translation. His theory and practice provide new insights.
