Modern text critical theory believes authors often leave blankness and paradox in the text intentionally or unintentionally,so this leaves a large room for r the readers to interpret.A deep interpretation of Zhang Ailing＇s The Falls of the Flowers reveals that Zheng Chuanchang,the heroine of this novel,died not because of the tuberculosis,but of the unconsciousness in her deep mind for love from her family and the society,which showed the tragic fate of those women when seeking modern self.
