The book The Story of the Stone contains rich and profound thoughts. Although the studies of the connotations of The Story of the Stone have got certain achievements,there exist many problems,such as deliberately raising the status of the works and mechanical application. Some of the opinions in the works are incompatible with the prevailing ideas,ethics and attitudes towards life at that time. Such thoughts,with certain foresightedness,are not the mainstream and accepted by only a few people then and there. Cao Xueqin's knowledge accomplishment and life experiences help to shape his thoughts. The interaction of both internal and external factors has set the tone for Cao's thoughts. The thoughts in The Story of the Stone are conveyed and realized via literature in a literary,lively and vivid way. These emotional and visualized thoughts are more influential and provide readers with greater thinking space.
