金吉堂先生与《月华》旬刊

Chin Chi t’ang and the Yueh Hwa Journal

《月华》自创办以来,青年时期的金吉堂便是忠实的读者,继而在该刊发文多篇,影响力逐渐增强,遂被聘为《月华》通讯撰述员。1935年,他担任《月华》＂教史拾零版＂主编,具体负责该栏目稿件的撰写、编辑、修订工作,并借助该刊平台,有偿对外征集中国伊斯兰教研究资料。此后多年,他不定期向《月华》投稿,并借助该刊继续征集资料,直到最终停刊。他是《月华》创办的重要历史见证人之一,他的成名与该刊有密切的关系。

Since the founding of Yueh Hwa,an Islamic journal,Chin Chi t＇ang in his youth had been one of its loyal readers. Since he published a series of articles in the journal,his influence was gradually increased so that he was hired as a correspondent of Yueh Hwa. In 1935,he served as the chief editor of ＂Sidelights of Islamic History＂column in Yueh Hwa,specifically responsible for the writing,editing,and revision of manuscripts of this column. Besides,he also used the platform of this journal to pay people for collecting Islamic research materials throughout China for him. Since then,he had been writing articles for Yueh Hwa for many years,and continued to collect Islamic research materials with the help of the journal until it was finally suspended. To sum up,we can say that Chin Chi t＇ang was one of the important historical witnesses of founding of Yueh Hwa,and his fame had been greatly established on his close relationship with the journal.
