18世纪文人共和国“卢梭-休谟事件”的历史考察

On the “Rousseau-Hume affair” in the Republic of Letters in 18th Century

1766年在文人共和国发生了"卢梭-休谟事件"。卢梭与休谟事件可以说是文人共和国的一次危机,卢梭与休谟是主角,巴黎的启蒙哲学家们则一起参与并推动了这个事件走向公开与激化。与政治人物之间针锋相对和相互攻击不同,文人们相互对待应以礼貌与文明方式,而这个事件对于文人共和国来说是一种文明的丢失。

In 1766, a historical event called ＂Rousseau-Hume affair＂ happened in the Republic of letters. ＂Rousseau-Hume affair＂ could be regarded a crisis for the Republic of letters, besides two heroes of the affair, Rousseau and Hume, the participants were the Philosphes of Paris, they played a role of agitator and inflamed the situation which finally led Hume to make the affair known to the public. Different from the mutual attacks between politicians, it should be polite and civilized for the letters to treat each other, nevertheless, this affair was a loss of civilization for the Republic of letters.
