Objective To explore the effects of home rehabilitation training on psychomotor, intellectual develop- ment and brain function in children with hypoxic - ischemic encephalopathy. Methods A total of 58 children with hypoxic- ischemic encephalopathy were selected as a control group and received routine care. Furthermore, another 58 children with hypoxic - ischemic encephalopathy were set as an observation groups and received rehabilitation training. The two groups were compared for the changes of psychomotor, intellectual development and brain function before and after nursing. Results The observation group showed remarkable increases in psychomotor indexes compared with the control group after 1, 3, 6 and 9 months ( P 〈 0. 01 ). Significant differences were found between the developmental quotients of adaptation, major movements, fine movements, languages, and social interactions between the two groups after 9 months of nursing (P 〈 0. 01 ). Markedly higher alpha waves and lower SMR - splitting α/SMR were detected in the observation group, compared with the control group after 9 months of nursing, (P 〈 0.01 ). Conclusions Home rehabilitation training in children with hypoxic - isehemic encephalopathy can effectively improve their psychological and intellectual development and improve their brain function, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
