摘要
The state of matter often varies with the external conditions such as temperature, pressure, magnetic field, or even time, all of which span in enormous scales in our universe. It has become an important paradigm nowadays to discover new states of matter or novel phenomena by pushing all kinds of external conditions to extremes. As one of the key scientific projects of the 12th national five-year plan in China, the Synergetic Extreme Condition User Facility (SECUF), proposed and designed mainly by the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (lOP, CAS), is aimed to achieve this goal, and to become a premier user facility in China to expand our current research capabilities on several research frontiers under synergetic extreme conditions, so as to promote the discoveries of new states of matter, new phenomena and new devices.
