In recent years,Ah Lai has been obsessed with ＂non-fiction＂literary creation and has published a series of Tibetan essays like The Ladder of the Earth. In these travel essays,Ah Lai has created a unique geographic space and a well-ordered personal spiritual domain where ＂nature＂is a state,a measure of value,and a spirit of personality,which dominates everything and becomes the spiritual core of its records in Tibet. As a writer born as a ＂Tibetan＂but living in the modern times,Ah Lai is full of sensibility and rationality,tradition and modernity,universality and locality,central and exotic tension when depicting the Tibetan world and judging various things,thereby embodying rich ideological and artistic tension. Ah Lai＇s Tibetan essays are not simple geographic travels,but both a personal spiritual history and an awakening history of ancient people,which embraces the dual value of history and literature.
