Dear Editor, Acetylcholinesterase （ACHE） hydrolyzes the neurotransmitter acetylcholine at cholinergic synapses in the central nervous system （Toutant, 1989）. Inhibition of the enzyme in insects could lead to the death of insects rapidly; thus AChE has been a molecular target for developing insecticides.
