清代广东竹家具是中国传统家具的重要组成部分,不仅延续了中国传统家具的制器脉络,而且也体现了一定的地域特色,与传统木质家具相比,其"简便"特征比较明显。在结构上,广东竹家具主要以梁柱式架构为主,并用竹片、竹篾来围合家具的目标界面。在工艺上,其普遍采用弯曲成型、相并加固及榫接工艺,使家具整体稳固匀称;在造型上,又以几何造型为主,整体规整有度、清新简练;在装饰上,则以结构性装饰为主,兼用艺术性装饰手法,以满足不同设计对象的需求;在功用审美上,不仅实用简洁,而且还人文雅致,并能因人而异,具有很强的包容特质。
