Women in the Two World——An Analysis of Women's Struggle and Rebirth in Mei Niang's《Fish》《Crab》and《Clam》

在20世纪30年代末40年代初,梅娘创作了《鱼》《蟹》《蚌》水族系列小说,三部小说中的主人公形象,一直作为核心人物被广泛研究。此外还塑造了旧家族异化与悲苦的其他女性。她们所有人都遭受着来自男权社会的压迫,在这个过程中,有人沉沦,有人异化,当然其中也有芬、玲、梅丽这样敢于和命运抗争的女性形象,本文将全梅娘水族系列中丰富的女性形象作为研究对象进行了分析。

In the late 1930 s and early 1940 s Mei Niang published her aquarlum series：Fish、Crab and Clam. Attention has been paid mainly to the female characters.They live in the patriarchal society, where the man has dominated power over woman. Under the oppression of man, some of the women are fallen, some are alienated. However,there are also women like Finn, Ling and Mei Li,who fight bravely against their fate. This thesis attempts to analyze the female characters in Mei Niang’s aquarium trilogy.
