Homuncular Functionalism:A Kind of Metal Model in Accordance with Contemporary Neuroscience

小人功能主义旨在通过将心智能力层层分解为功能性越来越低的"小人"的方式解释心智如何由机械过程产生,其构建的层级结构与神经科学对心理现象的科学解释具有很高的契合度,而神经科学研究成果亦可为"小人"的功能和功能实现者提供有效的科学描述。因此,小人功能主义乃是神经科学视阈下最具有解释力的心智理论模型。

Homuncular functionalism aims at interpreting the mechanical construction of mind by decomposing it into different homunculi on different levels,whose abilities are more and more limited. This kind of hierarchical structure created by homuncular functionalism is supposed to tally with the scientific interpretation of psychological phenomena proposed by neuroscience which would provide effective scientific descriptions for the function and function implementer of the ＂Homunculi＂. Therefore,homuncular functionalism is believed to be the most explanatory metal model under the perspective of contemporary neuroscience.
