浅析《时时刻刻》中的女性意识发展

Analysis of Feminism Consciousness in The Hours

随着西方女性解放思潮的兴起,19世纪末20世纪初西方女性在政治、经济和社会地位上得到了全面提高。同时,作家们也通过文学方式不断表达新的女性主义思想,塑造新的女性形象。迈克尔·坎宁安的长篇小说《时时刻刻》刻画了弗吉尼亚·伍尔夫、劳拉·布朗以及克拉丽莎·沃恩三个不同时期、不同地点、不同身份的女性因一本小说《达洛维夫人》而产生了联系。在时间上,则为我们展现了由20世纪早期到中期,再到20世纪末的女性在以男性为主导的社会中的生存困境以及实现自我价值的过程。三个女性的不同经历,分别对应着女性意识发展的不同阶段。不同的命运也展示了由20世纪初一直到20世纪末女性意识的觉醒、反抗以及最终实现。

With the development of Western Feminism Movements,women＇s social status in politics and economy has been improved a lot in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in western countries. At the same time,the writers began to express the newfeminism thoughts through the literature,molding the newfeminist images. Michael Cunningham ＇ s novel The Hours depicts Virginia Woolf,Laura Brown and Clarissa Vaughan,three women at different times,different locations,different identities,who are connected because of the novel Mrs. Dalloway of Virginia Woolf. In the aspect of time,it shows us women＇s living dilemma and their process of achieving their self-value from the early twentieth century to the mid period until the late twentieth century. The different experiences of the three women correspond to different stages of the development of feminism consciousness and the different fates also showthe awakening,rebellion and final realization of feminism consciousness from the beginning of twentieth century to the end of twentieth century.
