In my viewpoint comment, I will touch on issues concerning language learning as individual and social construction, the relationship between English as a lingua franca (ELF) and English language teaching (ELT), and pedagogical affordances of online ELF communication. The views discussed are intended to provide a conceptual framework for identifying options and opportunities for further enriching and expanding the POA classroom.
