In Study on Popular-form Characters in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Zeng Liang thoroughly analyzed the popular-form characters in the novels of the Ming and Qing dynasties. The form characteristics of those characters were summed up. By mutual verification among the form, pronunciation and meaning, the author sorted up, analyzed and explained the material with popular-form characters. The book is of great significance for comprehensively understanding the characters, collating ancient literature materials and interpreting literature semantics.
