On the Teaching of Decorative Painting for the Major of Visual Communication Design

On the basis of analyzing characteristics of decorative painting, this paper analyzed problems in the teaching of decorative painting in the major of visual communication design, and proposed corresponding strategies of adjusting teaching contents, changing the mode of teaching, and updating the teaching thought. Moreover, all teachers are expected to adapt to the development of the times, enhance the cultivation of their own qualities besides the professions and also the training of relevant design skills, improve the teaching quality, arrange the teaching contents and divisions properly as well as homework flexibly, and cultivate students' abilities of applying decorative paintings into the visual communication design, so as to improve their cultural quality and aesthetic capacity.
