The construction and evolution of lexical meaning are based on the interaction of the cognitive subject with the outside world. The meaning construction and the metaphor mechanism of visual words demonstrate the relationship between the cognitive subject and the outside world. By tracing the origin and evolution of the semantic meaning of the visual words, their construction and evolution as well as their metaphor mechanism can be revealed. The study suggests that the construction and evolution of visual words as well as their metaphor mechanism are based on the perceptual experience of the cognitive subject acquired through its visual sensory.
