Objective: To explore the management method of uninterruptible power supply(UPS) and ensure its healthy running status so as to eliminate fire risk, and guarantee the normal running of medical equipment of hospital and the data safety of information system. Methods: Through analyzed the fundamental, existed risk, status of management, and established safety management group of UPS, and formulated and implemented work standards and scheme of safety management, and regular carried out patrol and inspection for UPS power resource to achieve this research objective. Results: In the patrol and inspection of 5 times from2014 to 2017, the number and proportion of potential safety hazard or fault successively were 28(38.4%), 11(16.4%), 14(18.9%), 11(13.3%) and 9(10.5%), respectively. These results indicated that the amount of faulty equipment appeared downtrend over the years, and the percentage of fault equipment in amount of equipments was obvious decline. Conclusion: The periodic patrol and inspection for UPS power resource is an effective measure for finding the potential safety hazard and fault. The incidence of fault and risk can be reduced further by cooperating with patrol and inspection and handling the potential safety hazard and faults that have been found in periodic inspection.
