摘要
自18世纪小说作为一种文学体裁诞生直至19世纪末期,文学评论者批评的重点往往是作品的社会性和道德性,而非作品的文学形式和技巧。第三人称全知视角和第三人称有限视角成为分析作品的唯一标准。然而,在凯瑟琳·曼斯菲尔德的短篇小说《已故上校的女儿》中,作者在其作品中选择了不同的叙述技巧,从第三人称全知视角转换为第三人称有限视角,并在有限视角和全知视角之间切换;除此之外,作家也巧妙地运用了来回交错的叙述时间,通过时间的交错安排呼应作品中的人物性格及命运,实现了非凡的艺术效果。
From the birth of novel in 18 th century till the late 19 th century,literary critics always paid attention to the social morality of works rather than the literary forms and techniques. And the third-person omniscient point of view and the third-person point of view became the only criteria to analyze the works. However,as an outstanding modernist,Katherine Mansfield successfully applied a different narrative angle shifting from the third-person omniscient point of view to the third-person limited point of view,and shifting among different narrative angles in her work The Daughters of the Late Colonel. Besides,the writer arranged a shuttled narrative time sequence to bring about personalities and tragic life of characters,which has achieved a superb artistic effect.
