摘要
近年来,鉴于词汇对英语写作的重要性,越来越多的研究者把注意力转移到词汇知识的研究上,尤其是词汇广度和深度。作者对浙江工业大学之江学院英语专业53名学生进行词汇广度和深度测试。研究结果表明:词汇广度和写作之间呈高度正相关,词汇广度能有效预测写作水平;词汇深度与写作之间呈低度正相关,词汇深度对写作水平的预测力度较低;词汇广度和深度之间无明显关系。
Because of the importance of vocabulary knowledge, more and more researchers have shifted their attention to vocabulary knowledge especially breadth and depth of vocabulary knowledge recently. In this article,the author collected research data through vocabulary size quiz and depth of vocabulary knowledge quiz of the 53 junior English majors' from Zhijiang College of Zhejiang University of Technology. Results of the research show breadth of vocabulary knowledge and English writing performance are positively and highly correlated with each other,and vocabulary size is a good predictor to predict writing performance. There is a positive and low correlation between depth of vocabulary knowledge and English writing achievement,and vocabulary depth possesses a weak power to predicate English writing performance. The correlation between breadth of vocabulary knowledge and depth of vocabulary knowledge is not evident.
