This article analyzes the role of new media in Englishteaching in higher vocational colleges, analyzes the main prob-lems in English teaching in higher vocational colleges, and pro-poses some strategies for English information-based teachingpractice in higher vocational colleges under the new media envi-ronment, such as improving teachers＇ level of information-basedteaching to build an information-based learning atmosphere, us-ing information technology to optimize English teaching patternsin higher vocational colleges, relying on information technology toadvance English situational teaching in higher vocational col-leges, and using information-based English learning platforms tocultivate students＇ ability of autonomous English learning.
