The Edict of Tiberius Julius Alexander was promulgated by praefectus of Roman imperial Egypt in 68 A.D. It involves important issues such as provincial land tax, corvee, debt and financial management in Egyptian society. Also, it reflects the local rulers' thought to resolve the above-mentioned problems. As a piece of valuable historical evidence in the study of the Egyptian economy, politics and society, this edict reveals the difficulties and dilemmas that the Julia-Claudius dynasty came across by the end of its reign.
