摘要
杨金才教授的近作《赫尔曼·麦尔维尔的现代阐释》(2017)立足于20世纪以来的现代西方文学与文化理论,通过历史的重构与政治的再审视将美国浪漫主义作家赫尔曼·麦尔维尔的一系列作品纳入考察视野,突出后结构主义历史观与作为文学表征的社会意识形态,在此基础上一方面对19世纪中叶的美国历史文化语境进行了政治考量,另一方面实现了对麦尔维尔批评传统的"元批评"观照,为全球化视阈下的麦尔维尔研究提供了新策略。
Professor Yang Jincai＇ s latest monograph A Modernist Interpretation of Herman Melville （2017）, by having recourse to the modernist western literary and cultural theories, aims to interpret Herman Melville＇ s novels via historical restructuring and political revisiting so as to highlight the post - structuralist concept of history and social ideology as literary representation. It henceforth takes into account the historical context of the mid -19th century America on one hand, and on the other initiates a meta - critical redressing of the traditional critical legacy by offering new strategies to the globally oriented Melville scholarship.
