English reading ability is the basic element of the key of English core literacy. With the enactment of the new curriculum standard, it is very urgent and necessary to explore the effective teaching mode of English reading. However, how can teachers finish the reading task in order to receive the ideal teaching effect？ The paper explored the teaching model of senior school English reading. It has been proved that the six-step teaching model is worthy of being imitated because students like it most, the class is the most efficient and the test is of much efficiency.
