Yao Emei＇ s creation of novels always maintains the topic of darkness and sin, such as sadness of life, antimony of humanity and suffering of soul. In such a reflection of darkness, what people feel is not only the horrifying reality and terribly anxious mental state but also the spiritual struggle and pliably strong power deep in the human nature. Judged from this, though Yao Emei focuses on darkness, she doesn＇ t indulge in darkness. Instead, she relies on in the darkness something like Mephisto＇ s supernatural power to extract something higher than humanity, which has become permanent brilliance in the darkness. Therefore, her creation can be counted as a dancer in the darkness and a contemplator marching forward. However, her confusion and lose of mind during enhancing her own thought constitutes a failure in her creation of novels.
