现代印刷出版业的发达,使中国现代文学别集在种类上较中国古代文学更为丰富。中国古代文学别集,一般是指收集作家一生全部著作的文集,类型比较单一。现代印刷条件大大改善;版税制度的建立,又促成了专业作家队伍的形成;现代教育使文化普及的程度大为提高,形成了规模日益壮大的稳定的读者群,遂使印刷出版业与商业紧密结合。中国现代文学文集的出版形式,日益丰富。就别集而言,除了收入一个作家全部著作的全集之外,还产生了选集和文集。选集、文集和全集,可以说是"别集"这种编辑出版类型的三种"亚类型"。

The development of modern printing and publishing industry makes modern Chinese literature more abundant than ancient Chinese literature in genres. The collection of ancient Chinese literature refers to the collected works of an author, which is monotonous in types. Modern printing conditions have greatly improved and the establishment of the royalty system has contributed to the formation of professional writers. Modern education has greatly increased the popularity of culture and formed a stable readership that is growing in scale so that the printing and publishing industry are closely combined with business. The collection of modern Chinese literature is becoming more and more abundant in types. Apart from the complete works of a writer＇s entire works, an anthology also refers to selected works and collected works. Selected works, collected works and complete works are three subtypes of the editing and publishing types of an anthology.
