Application of Modular Approach in the Teaching of College English Reading

英语阅读是英语学习的重要方面。学生阅读能力的培养是大学英语阅读教学的重中之重。当前的高校英语阅读教学过分注重词汇和句子层面的教学,却忽略了对学生阅读技能和方法的训练,学生的阅读能力得不到真正的提高。模块教学法将知识的传授和能力的培养板块化、系统化、简单化,是一种行之有效的教学方法。本文将重点探讨如何在大学英语阅读教学中运用模块教学法加强对学生阅读各项技能的训练,以期为改进阅读教学提供参考。

Reading is an important aspect of English learning,and the training of students ＇reading ability constitutes the top priority in the teaching of college English reading.Current English reading teaching in our higher-learning institutions,however,puts undue stress on explaining the meaning of words and sentences,neglecting the training of students ＇reading skills.Consequently,students ＇reading ability can not be enhanced in a real sense.Modular approach divides reading-related knowledge and skills into several modules and is thus more systematic,simplified and effective.This paper centers on the application of modular approach in the training of students ＇concrete reading skills,aiming at providing some reference for improving reading teaching.
